Drug Interventions

Drug interventions occur when a substance abuser needs help with an addiction but is unwilling, and many stories of long-term recovery begin with drug interventions. Once a person becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol, it is extremely difficult to reason with him/her. Many times addicts are in deep denial of their substance abuse, even though greater problems and issues are arising in their daily life. For addicts who are unwilling to look at the problem, drug addiction interventions are the essential first step in freedom from addiction.

Drug Abuse Interventions

Drug alcohol interventions can be used for any type of drug addiction ranging from marijuana to alcohol and prescription drugs to heroin, and everything in between. An addict's friends and family initiate most often drug interventions. These loved ones make the call to an intervention specialist who explains the drug intervention process, the options available and the variables involved. Once this initial contact has been established the specialist and the addict's loved ones engage in brainstorming conference calls in order to create the best possible scenario in which the drug abuse intervention can take place.

Because the addict is usually not excited about the prospect of drug abuse interventions, the specialist works with the family intervention to make sure that they feel comfortable but also to help them set firm boundaries to which they will stick during the drug intervention. When drug addicts are in the depths of their disease they are notorious for becoming manipulative and devious in order to get what they want. This phenomenon is most common with those who are closest to the addict, and while these loved ones only want to help the addict, they often engage in behavior that help enables the addiction.

Drug Intervention Program

Drug abuse interventions have an extremely high success rate, and at National Rehabs, we help ensure a successful drug intervention as well as a smooth transition into a treatment or rehabilitation facility. Trusting in the drug intervention process can be difficult for loved ones as well as the addict, so National Rehabs has created a drug intervention program that helps all persons involved feel comfortable and confident. If you or someone you love needs help with a drug or alcohol problem but cannot do it alone, seeking a drug and alcoholism intervention through National Rehabs in the first step towards a life free from addiction.
